Membership

We welcome your interest in becoming a member of the Anthroposophical Society whose first principle is “to further the life of the soul, both in the individual and in human society on the basis of a true knowledge of the spiritual world.” It is this that establishes the essential nature of the Society. This nurturing of the soul finds its greatest possibility for development in relationship with others.

By joining the Anthroposophical Society, you are becoming part of a network of some 50,000 people worldwide and show your support for the further development of anthroposophy and its practical applications. These applications are represented on this web site under “Initiatives” and cover, but are not limited to: education, farming, medical practices, and special needs communities. Worldwide about 10,000 institutions base their work on anthroposophy.

Thank you for considering membership in the General Anthroposophical Society. The only condition for joining is that you acknowledge the value of Rudolf Steiner’s founding work to establish anthroposophy in the world.

By becoming a member of the Anthroposophical Society in Canada, you also become a member of the General Anthroposophical Society based at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. Members receive regular newsletters, in electronic or print format from the Canadian Society, as well as Anthroposophy Worldwide from the Goetheanum. After two years as a Society member, you may choose to apply for membership in the School of Spiritual Science.
